Dear friends,

Activists need to keep connected and support each other as they continue to engage in resistance, go to trial and possibly spend time in jail.

The Nuclear Resister exists to facilitate and encourage that connectedness and support.

Over the last 42+ years, the Nuclear Resister has reported on more than 100,000 anti-nuclear and anti-war arrests during thousands of actions in the United States and around the world, and encouraged support for at least 1,000 men and women imprisoned for these acts of conscience. Writings from many of these prisoners have been included in almost every issue of the newsletter published since October, 1980, along with information about direct actions against nuclear power, nuclear weapons, nuclear testing, uranium mining, war, military recruiting and torture.

This work requires time and money.  Please help! A donation of any amount you can share will be gratefully received – we are a small-scale, bare bones operation and whether you can send $1 or $1000, it will be put to good use.

There are wars continuing in our name and with our tax dollars that need to be stopped, nuclear weapons that need to be disarmed, and an aggressive attempt to build more nuclear power reactors that needs to be turned back. This is no time to put nonviolent direct action on hold! These acts of conscience must continue – they are continuing – and we pledge that the Nuclear Resister will continue as a clearinghouse for this resistance, and a support network for the imprisoned activists.

We can’t do it without you.

Thanks!

Peace,

Felice and Jack Cohen-Joppa, co-coordinators, the Nuclear Resister

P.S. We also very much need donations for the prisoner subscription fund. The Nuclear Resister newsletter has always been sent to prisoners free of cost. There’s no internet access behind bars, and we’ve received countless letters from prisoners expressing gratitude for their free subscriptions. We currently mail the newsletter to about 200 prisoners. Please, can you help cover the cost?
