VIEQUES SOLIDARITY
The War Resisters International, at their triennial meeting in Dublin, Ireland August 3-9, issued a call for demonstrations in support of peace and justice in Vieques, Puerto Rico, and the cessation of U.S. military practice and experiments there. NUCLEAR WEAPONS ABOLITION DAYS
Nuclear Weapons Abolition Days actions are planned in Europe to expose and demand the removal of U.S. nuclear forces. The plans for action begin with an anti-militarist carnival, to coincide with the celebrations of German reunification on October 3 in Berlin. For more info in German, visit www.gaaa.org.

ACTION FOR NUCLEAR ABOLITION
A People's Nuclear Abolition Summit in Las Vegas October 5 will kick off ten days of Action for Nuclear Abolition. Following the summit, the Family Spirit Walk for Mother Earth will cover the final 65 miles of their trek from New Mexico to the Nevada Test Site. Friday, October 11 will feature workshops, a rally and nonviolent direct action in solidarity with international Keep Space for Peace week. Saturday, Indigenous Peoples Day, and Sunday will be devoted to ceremonies, workshops and trainings to build a multi-cultural community and prepare for Monday, October 14, and a sunrise service on reclaimed test site land. More nonviolent direct action will take place later in the day.
Come as a guest, respecting the ways of the Western Shoshone hosts and prepared for desert camping - hot days and cold nights. Bring your own chair, plate, cup and utensils: good food, water and toilet facilities will be provided; basic contribution of $7/day requested.

KEEP SPACE FOR PEACE
The Global Network Against Weapons and Nuclear Power in Space has declared October 4-11 "Keep Space for Peace Week", with international protests against the militarization of space. Ploughshares (and even plowshares) activists are invited to attend a Hope & Disarmament Gathering at Lymington, England on October 19-22.
