- White House

Local Washington, D.C. activists honored Martin Luther King's anti-war message with a rally and civil disobedience last January 20. Under the banner of the D.C. Anti-War Network, 300 people listened to speeches at the Lincoln Memorial condemning the bombing of Afghanistan and the assault on civil liberties at home. Demonstrators then marched to the White House, where ten were arrested, cited for demonstrating in the prohibited area directly in front of the executive mansion, and released.
