Last January, more than 1,000 people joined a Portland, Oregon protest that trailed the President to two venues. Progressive activists expressed a rainbow of reasons to oppose George W. Bush, not the least of which being his own sponsorship of terrorism. Three people were arrested as police in helicopters and on horseback worked to rein in the protest. Charges included disorderly conduct and interfering with police, and resulted in fines.
