- Minneapolis

A May 15 demonstration against U.S. military support for Israeli army actions in the occupied territories led to arrests at the Minneapolis federal building and a downtown intersection. About 150 people conducted a mock funeral procession around the federal building. More than a dozen activists blocked the doors with coffins, Palestinian flags, signs, and blood-stained bed sheets.

After half an hour, police arrested only three people, enough to open the door. Banners were hung from the building, and a climber was arrested before the demonstrators set out again to march in the streets during rush hour. Eleven people were quickly arrested when they sat down in the intersection of 3rd Street and 3rd Avenue.

Demonstrators spent up to ten hours in jail before being released. Two later had charges dismissed, and the others pled guilty to a misdemeanor and were not fined.
