NUDES AGAINST NUKES

The risk of a reactor brought out a couple of risque reacters in February, when two nude anti-nuclear protesters were arrested outside the Sydney office of Australian Prime Minister John Howard. Together with a few traditionally attired pickets, the pair protested plans for Australia's second nuclear power reactor before being busted for offensive behavior. Meanwhile, 46 Greenpeace activists, arrested last December when they swarmed onto the Sydney grounds of Lucas Heights, Australia's only nuclear power plant, have all pleaded guilty to trespass. Their opposition to construction of a second reactor at the Sydney facility resulted in fines ranging from $100-$600.
