More than 150 people rallied in a "Farewell to Arms" in Hopkins, Minnesota on May 30, where the headquarters of Alliant Techsystems was soon departing for new digs in Edina, several blocks south. The maker of depleted uranium and more conventional bullets, guns and other weapons has not abandoned the practice, however, so twelve people continued the three-decade tradition of resistance to local war industry and were arrested for trespass. All were cited and released.

An update: Tom Bottolene and Sr. Betty McKenzie were sentenced to three years probation for their arrest at Alliant in June, 2000.
