For the 24th consecutive year, the Brandywine Peace Community organized civil disobedience in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday. The January 15 observance at the gate of Lockheed Martin's facility in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, included recordings of King's anti-war and freedom speeches, music, and the burning of 1040 income tax forms in a wash basin emblazoned: "You Pay; Lockheed Martin Profits."
Fifteen people were arrested, some as they wove CRIME SCENE - DO NOT PASS tape throughout the driveway entrance, and others when they tried to enter the building complex from another approach. They were cited and released, unlikely to face further prosecution.
