Livermore

About 150 people participated in the annual Hiroshima Day observance at the Livermore Nuclear Weapons Laboratory in California. Visual props included a 70' banner listing over 1,000 U.S. nuclear tests conducted since the dawn of the nuclear age, and Peace Action's inflatable 50' Trident missile.

Inspired speeches and the music of Clan Dyken apparently captured even the attention of police, who engaged in rare dialogue with many of the 37 people who crossed the line at the lab's west gate. All 37 were bussed a few blocks away and released with a citation for trespass that no one expects to be prosecuted.
