Raytheon (MA)
A four-day, 45 mile Hiroshima-Nagasaki commemorative walk concluded at Raytheon Corporation corporate headquarters in Andover, Massachusetts on August 9. Over 50 people participated in some or all of the walk, which was supported with meals and lodging by community groups along the route. The march began at Starmet Corporation - formerly known as Nuclear Metals - a factory in Concord which manufactures depleted uranium ammunition.
Five people were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after one woman poured her own blood across the driveway of the international war merchant and then knelt with the others at the site. All pled not guilty and face trial November 15.
Six members of the Bread and Roses affinity group, arrested at Raytheon last May, go to trial October 13.
