At 8:15 a.m. on August 6, the date and time of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima 54 years ago, the Brandywine Peace Community began a vigil in front of the Lockheed Martin weapons complex, Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, to the deafening sound of an air raid siren. Lockheed Martin is the world's largest weapons producing corporation as well as the U.S.'s #1 international arms seller and the Department of Energy's chief nuclear bomb contractor.

After a four-hour vigil, the group held a ceremony of remembrance that concluded with a die-in. Five people who lay inside the Lockheed Martin property were arrested and soon released with criminal trespass citations.

Three days later, the group again demonstrated at the Lockheed Martin Aegis warship testing and training center in Moorestown, New Jersey (often called the "cruiser in the cornfield" due to it being the top half of a Navy cruiser in the middle of a South Jersey cornfield). The August 9th "die-in" followed a ceremony for the victims of U.S. war-making today. There were no arrests.
